Yesterday, Shadow Health Secretary Andrew Lansley gave a speech on a new public health strategy entitled ‘No excuses, no nannying’.
Dreadfully thought out.
The title of the speech I mean.
Caroline Spelman must feel as if she’s under attack every day.
Nick Clegg agrees to abandon Lib Dem voters in Haltemprice and Howden to support (edit) Conservatives’ and/or David Davis’ publicity campaign on 42 days.
For those relatively new to the site who may be wondering where my new version of the Lib-Dem bird came from, view this video which I put together while Chris Huhne and Nick Clegg were battling it out over who was going to replace Menzies Campbell :

There’s seems to be a rather heated discussion on the blogs about Caroline Spelman and her children’s nanny or should I say Caroline Spelman’s secretary – or should I say a magical constituency secretarial nanny.
An extremely hard-working genuine multi-tasker. She must have been knackered in that one year having to fulfill so many duties.
It seems pretty easy to get to the truth.
She was working as constituency secretary during school hours and was paid quite correctly via Ms Spelman’s parliamentary allowance.
According to The Times, she worked as a nanny after the kids returned from school for only her board, lodgings and the use of a car (pretty stingy in my opinion).
So in the several years after she relinquished her role as secretary but remained as a nanny, she would not have received any salary from Caroline Spelman – just the accomodation etc., unless she had a magical pay award.
All that has to be shown by the Conservatives or by the nanny herself is that no salary was paid in the years after the secretarial work stopped and that’s the end of it.
What do I believe ? A cock-up on the Spelman front but not dishonest.
However, the excuses and explanations seem totally dishonest.
The hypocrisy shown on the blogs, claims of conspiracy and the predictable whining about the BBC is pathetic.
