I had intended to run the previously posted animation on C4 News but it was a bit too heavy and I wouldn’t have been able to use the music which I have used on this blog.

He accepted that not all those who’ve lost from the 10p tax rate cut would benefit. Not all losers, indeed most of them he believes, are anything like poor.

So, a u-turn or not a u-turn?
Brown returns a fraction of what he has taken from those who used to be on the 10% tax rate.
But they’re not ‘poor’, just less wealthy than those who earned enough to be in a higher tax band.
So, that’s OK. Take from the not-so-wealthy, give to the slightly more wealthy. Sound socialist principles.
Maybe it’s the ‘rebels’ who performed the u-turn.
So, more weak spines and u-turns ahead.
