What with Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown’s tax the poor policy, maybe it’s time for a new logo.

UPDATE (2nd November 2008)
The Sport did publish one of my images.
I did ask them to take it down and they did so promptly and it was Barry McIlheny who confirmed it by email.
Very civilised and a reasonable outcome.

The Daily Sport relaunches this week.
The editor-in-chief of Sport Media Group is Barry McIlheney, formerly of EMAP and it was he who founded Zoo Weekly.
For details of how they ripped me off, see here.

The reason I mention this is that The Sport has recently been visiting B3TA.com and this site.

It may just be a matter of time before The Daily Sport has made use of some ‘free’ editorial.
We shall see.

Sometimes it’s worthwhile getting away from politics for some light relief and to ‘loosen up’.
I do this over at b3ta.com. Sometimes the pics are quickies, sometimes they can take as long as a commissioned piece.
This is obviously a quickie and you have to be over a certain age to get it. It goes to show that B3TA is frequented by a broad age range, considering my pic was front paged – which is quite an honour.
The image below was done for the competition – ‘photoshop the Beatles’ which I interpreted as ‘photoshop something Beatles related.’

For those of you who are not over a certain age, go here.

It looks like Alex Hughes is twittering and posting images from the Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival over the weekend.
He has already posted images of his alfresco work, creating a ‘big board’ – an 8ft by 6ft cartoon.
Worth keeping an eye on here.

I never liked the way I used the Skegness clouds in the first version, so I’ve redone that part of the image.

2008 Festival 18th – 20th April

Since 2003 the town has hosted this international event which attracts around 40 full-time, professional cartoonists and caricaturists from the UK and abroad.

The 2008 Festival dates are 18th – 20th April. During this weekend around 40 professional cartoonists and caricaturists from the UK and overseas will converge on Shrewsbury and will be set loose to cartoon and caricature for the public.

The theme of the 2008 Festival is ‘Art’ and one of the highlights will be an exhibition of new work by Festival cartoonists entitled ‘But is it Art’ which will run from 30th March – 26th April.

The Festival offers unique opportunities to see artists at work; 20 of them on huge boards in The Square during the weekend, others drawing caricatures and some running cartoon workshops for all ages.

The Lib Dems must be overjoyed at their rebranding as the ‘not so fluffy and slightly nasty party’ by Brian Paddick and his imported advisors.
Paddick contributed to the London Evening Standard today with a follow up assault on Livingstone after the Daily Mail’s sister title majored on religion and claiming Livingstone was receiving support from a backer of suicide bombers.
The headline ‘Suicide bomb backer runs Ken’s campaign seems to (deliberately, falsely) imply that any ‘campaign’ is part of Livingstone’s official election set up.
Things are hotting up in London and I reckon it will have implications for the rest of the UK in terms of national party perceptions and especially political campaigning on the web.

I honestly haven’t made my mind up of who I’ll be voting for but it will be influenced, in part, by campaign tactics and, of course, my opinion of the behaviour of the incumbent since taking office – and that is far from favourable.
