Beijing Olympics Logo T Shirt

However, the retailer has, unsurprisingly, taken it down.
update I did post a comment on Liberal Conspiracy some time ago but, considering there have been subsequent comments, it seems that LC has either decided not to post it or (because it had two links in it) maybe an anti-spam bot chucked it out.
I’ve dealt with several online retailers and knew the design would be deleted if I tried to have my own design (below) printed.
That’s why I produced an extremely large version for anyone who wanted to take the file along to a high street retailer and have it printed on their own shirt.
However, if anyone can have several printed and make no profit whatsoever from it, I’d be happy with that.

Here’s a link to several different versions of the image, plus the T Shirt file.
and here’s where I first posted it one year ago.
Please note that the comment I make in the first post is about a notorious commercial clothing retailer and nothing to do with AC’s shirt.
If you were to visit Amused Cynicism, you will see that our designs are pretty similar.
Not a surprise really. The Tank Man image is so iconic, that it was bound to crop up a few times in Beijing Olympics images.
It wouldn’t surprise me if there is a similar image out there somewhere that predates my 2007 picture. I saw one a while ago (a few months after I devised mine – ooooh defensive!) and think that it was produced this year.
update I’ve had a look around the web and found the source of the version I saw recently and it was created in 2006!.
It’s on a Taiwanese site, so full credit to them for being first off the mark.

I fear that were I to wear that down GongtiBeilu right now, I’d end up in the Beijing foreigners nick.Nice though, I may print one to wear outside China.
But remember, the Beijingers themselves are not the people who did that stuff in 89, and they have no control over their government or its policies, can’t elect or unelect them, and they deserve a successful Olympics. They’ve worked damn hard for it.
Re: Comment at LibCon.
Twas but the spam trap acting up – all sorted now…
I immediately thought “T-shirt” when you first published it. But I’m not going to now. The simplistic, unqualified support in the West for the ludicrous Tibetan theocracy drives me crazy, and today, it seems, the islamist nutters are having a go.
Neil,
I’m sorry you’re not going to think “T-Shirt” anymore….
