Neil, the exact same thing crossed my mind two days ago. I posted on the Usmanov out of shared disgust but when I noticed all the pingbacks, I began to suspect it would become a nuisance. It's a shame. It allows cynics, me included, to wonder how many people post the story not out of sympathy for the cause but to become part of this rolling list that will inflate Technorati figures. I can only guess that Technorati will soon spot it and the effect will become negligable like that daft business earlier this year with the 1000 bloggers project.

That was the reason I first did so and why I posted comments on other sites as a show of solidarity.
I was just getting more 'pings' (I think) than comments.

I'm not asking anyone to do the same as I have done. It's a personal decision which I wanted to explain in case anyone drew the wrong conclusion but I think my other postings on the subject would prove otherwise.

I published the list of blogs (<a href='http://cabalamat.wordpress.com/2007/09/21/alisher-usmanov-is-a-scumbag/' rel="nofollow">here</a>) in order to show that lots of people are angry at what Usmanov and Schillings are doing. Also, because there's strength in numbers: if people see that lots of other people are doing something, they are more likely to do it themselves.
