I think that all those people who ridicule and rubbish Boris Johnson, for being a toff, for being a public schoolboy, for having a “complicated personal life” (whatever that might be), might be in for a shock if he gets elected as Mayor of London. he knows what he and others want him to be, and that’s Prime Minister, cos’ he can do it and he and they know it. The Tory party is dead, and also he and most of the electorate know it. He is quietly, diplomatically, trying gracefully to slide out of Westminster politics, during the time when both the Tories and Westminster will mean nothing.
He will be back, when the Tories have been replaced with a good modern old-fashioned English liberal Party, like what Thatcher was inveigled into thinking that she was leading in 1975 when she trumped the bugger Heath, and he ought to lead it.
What a load of rubbish – If he’s the best the tories can do then its good bye conservatives for a very long time. Wake up. the past 50 years of social change in this country would be wasted if we get the old Etonians back running the country. they are out of date and out of touch. Bow down Boris, Ken is in a class of his own.
I’d rather we had old Etonians running this country than the current bunch of yippee-yois. We need to restore some deference in this country from the hoi polloi towards their superiors. Why should everything have to be reduced to the lowest common denominator? Let’s have some excellence and class back in charge of the country!
