Blair, Gaddafi, Oil, Arms….Prisoners and Kirsty Wark on Newsnight

blair, gadaffi, libya, BP, oil, weapons

Kirsty Wark at the start of Newsnight, “It was only a matter of time before Alex Salmond moved on to a collision path with number 10. The only thing that wasn’t certain is what would be his vehicle. Well………..gave him his chance….”
It went downhill from there.
Last night (on a decent TV screen), you could see Wark’s hatred of Alex Salmond in her eyes as she ‘questioned’ him and cut him short.
But it seemed she was interrupting him because he was giving answers unlike Paxo who (normally) presses for answers when politicians are evading questions.
Maybe she just didn’t like his answers, maybe they didn’t fit in with her agenda.

You can see it here, (BBC clip now replaced with clip of interview from Youtube).

It seems like the BBC is having a few problems with posting comments about this :

And here is Newsnight’s defence – again with the same problem of posting comments.

It’s very funny how she switches off from attacking Salmond, and turns to the Labour guy and says ‘Alex Salmond’s got a point’

Crusty Wark’s personal animus often gets in the way of decent interviewing. Worse, she’s got no sense of humour. She gives me the creeps

Thank God I don’t have to deal with her. I’d be homicidal within fifteen seconds.
