I saw the film the other night and, although presentationally flawed in my opinion, it still is one you must see and tell others to see.
Rich or poor, left or right, the film covers (with some incredibly good footage) subjects that affect us all.
The book apparently comes out just before the film – Link here.
I’ll write more about it in the next couple of weeks.
Of course, the book and film need to be promoted effectively and the most important audience are those hardly aware of the creeping erosion of our civil liberties – A difficult audience to reach and persuade to see the film or read the book.
The best of luck to whoever is promoting these worthwhile projects.
Now, while official promotional work has to work within pretty strict guidelines, I’m sure some dickhead will probably think it a bit clever to do this sort of thing in major bookstores, something I could never condone.

I suppose a similar idea but with a different purpose, printed on labels could be just as foolhardy, especially when Blair’s memoirs come out.
Stickers bearing messages such as “Return this book within 45 minutes of an order and get your money back.” , “A real stomach turner.” , “This is an outstanding piece of work – Brian Sewell.” and “Dan Brown will be plagiarising this next year – Wait until then.” would, I’m sure, be frowned upon and should not be contemplated.

(I’m letting this one through, even though it promotes a printing firm – I don’t think it is spam but am prepared to hear others views on it.)

What a scandalous idea! Something should be done before anyone goes to http://www.koolprint.com and make an enquiry like the following:
Peter: Hello and welcome to Koolprint! This is Peter, I am your Live Personal Service Representative.
Peter: Please do let me know if you require any assistance.
You: do you do stickers? If so, what would 10,000 colour stickers at c.5cm diameter in full colour cost? (Ideally easy peel so they can be removed from book covers?)
Peter: Ok
Peter: Do you need stickers on sticker paper or on vinyl stock ?
You: sticker paper
Peter: Ok
Peter: Size is 0.5 cm or 5cm ?
You: 5cm
Peter: Price for 10,000 would be £450
Peter: With free shipping and handling within UK
thank you for your wonderful idea. We have just ordered 10,000 stickers. We have an all singing trailer on our website and a list of cinemas for June 8th which hopefully will rise as awareness grows!
… and the website is http://www.noliberties.com.
oops! there’s me going on about promotion and I forget the most obvious thing – now fixed.
