The two main public works programmes he has highlighted have (ok expensively and acrimoniously) already been done (or been in progress for years) in the UK. Rebuilding schools and computerising health records. Certainly on the latter the same companies are likely to be involved – the big international consultancies – and therefore if Obama has any sense he will be asking Brown for lessons learnt (which are legion).
