Lord Mandelson has said he “believes in the future” of the Post Office amid reports it will be encouraged to offer more financial and government services. The BBC understands ministers are keen for the service to develop new areas of business such as providing pictures for new passports and ID cards.

  2. I’m sure that he hasn’t got an effin clue what is going on in the post offices although i am glad he didnt give the card account to the paypoint people. Taking pictures isnt exactly a novel or a money making idea. The post office already sell the ‘financial services’ that have been mentioned including insurance, home phone, credit cards etc. They can shove their ID card
