The Sun has launched its own military awards to salute itself the armed forces.

And they don’t seem too popular.

To add insult to injury, The Sun has named it after the Foreign Secretary and his cabinet minister brother, David and Ed Miliband.

Category number 2 is interesting.
Support to the Armed Forces
The winner of this award will be a civilian - a civil servant, a contractor or just an ordinary member of the public - who has provided invaluable help to the Armed Forces.

Will apologists Geoff Hoon, John Reid or Des Browne get the nod for their unstinting work ensuring essential military equipment was always at hand? Maybe Gordon or even Tony Blair….

Just wana say its a great relief to see our lads and gals who are out there risking their necks are getting some praise, for all the courage and effort they put into their jobs… they deserve this.

The armed forces have really started to get the help and support they need this year and its great to see so many people involved. x

  3. After just watching “The Millies” it makes me once again proud to be English but with a tinge of saddness. Firstly nobody can take away what the men and women of all the Armed forces are achieving in a sometimes thankless task whatever they may be doing. I priveledged to be associated with them and we are always told its a ONE ARMY concept ie Regular and Territorial. Yet once again no mention or recognition to the Territorial Soldiers. Also Earlyier this year the granting of someone being aloud to lay a wreath at the Cenataph. Do people realise that we are no longer Weekend Soldiers as many have gone on to active Tours and get just as easily shot as anyone else and earn Medals just as hard as any one else. So why not the recognition of everyone else gets. Yes it may seem i am bitter and yes i am and would love to see recognition to our TA soldiers
